Today the worldwide Adventist church has over 15 million members in more than 200 countries. Adventists operate 7200+ schools worldwide with nearly 1.5 million students. They also run 168 hospitals worldwide, 138 nursing homes and retirement centers, 442 clinics and dispensaries, and 34 orphanages and children's homes. In addition, the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) International, a disaster relief organization, funds over 2,400 projects in 112 countries.

History of BSDAS*
BAGUIO SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST SCHOOL was established through the fundamental ideal of the church, to prepare a foundational training ground of missionary workers. Its educational philosophy is based on Ellen White’s authored philosophy stating, “To restore in man the image of his Maker, to bring him back to the perfection in which he was created, to promote the development of body, mind and soul that the divine purpose in His creation might be realized”.
Carrying this mission and vision, the school started its operation in the year 1938. A house in Guisad Road, owned by the Zarate family, served as the first classroom for the pioneer pupils before it was transferred to Bokawkan Road. It occupied one room in the basement of the church with the adjacent rooms used as mission offices.
After years of operation with its yearly renewal of permit, through the leadership of the late Mrs. Rebecca Edwin, the principal, the school received its government recognition from the Department of Education in 1981 issued on the 27th day of November signed by Honorable Onofre D. Corpuz, then Ministro ng Edukasyon at Kultura.
Since its operation, the school applied the “Multi-grade System” of classes. It was in School Year 1993-1994 that enrolment grew to a total of 132, an enrolment figuring 40% increase, that single-grade classes was adopted thus, multi-grade system was stopped and was never been reapplied due to the steady increase of enrolment.
In 2001, the school started to expand its operation by offering pre-school classes. The School Board through the leadership of chairman Tacio Basali assisted by then principal Mrs. Dina Dengay, successfully secured a permit to operate pre-school offering nursery and kindergarten.
A year after the successful launching of the Pre-school, In 2002, a more challenging offering, the HIGH SCHOOL DEPARTMENT, was launched through the concerted efforts of the Bokawkan Church (now known as Baguio Central Seventh-day Adventist Church) brethren with the leadership of Pastor Joel Rizalino, the church pastor, the School Board chaired by Atty. Ologen Dao-ayan, the school family headed by Mrs. Dina Dengay, the principal, Mr. Jones Dengay, the officially assigned coordinator, and with the blessing and support of the mission office through Pastor Maximo delos Reyes, then President. After two years of successful operation of the High School Department, leadership was turned-over to Mr. & Mrs. Bartolome Zarate in 2004.
In 27 February 2008 Baguio Seventh-day Adventist School, through the leadership of Mr. Avelino Gadiano Jr. and Mrs Ma. Leticia Fabito, principals of the Elementary and High School Departments respectively, celebrated the 70th Foundation Anniversary of the school. MABUHAY!
In 2013, the school celebrated its 75th Birthday (Diamond Anniversary) using Unweathered CORE** as the theme. It was as a statement that no matter what trials the school faced throughout the years, the CORE values, philosophy and mission of the school has never been shaken. This was mentioned by Mr. Florante Saganib who penned the said theme. Mr. Vic Zarate expanded it and added that the CORE means Christ-Oriented and Redemptive Education which is the center of the school. This was also the year where the school held its first ever grand celebration as it invited all alumni, parents, and Seventh-day Adventist members.

**Unweathered CORE was again used in the school's 80th and 85th and then proposed to be also used every 5 years thereafter. This also follows that the school will use a theme for four years then shift to Unweathered CORE every 5 years.
