BSDAS reclaims lost glory in Chorale Festival

December 12 - 21 representatives from the Baguio Seventh-day Adventist School Academy Choir join hands with their parents, teachers, co-students, alumni, and other supporters in celebrating their victory in the recently concluded Eight Baguio Country Club Inter-school Chorale Festival.

The team which is headed by their conductor, Jelmi Pearl Rizalino, dedicate their victory as the first runner up to  God. According to a parent, "It is unbelievable at first since some of the member are suffering from cough and colds. " And another one commented, "It is an unforeseen triumph since, the judge themselves said that they had some brainstorming on who will be the first runner up and the second runner up."

This year, BCC has the following prizes: Best in Costume and Choreography - Php 5,000.00 each, Second Runner Up - Php 15, 000.00, First Runner Up - Php 20, 000.00, Champion - Php 30,000.00 and Consolation of Php 1, 500.00. These prizes hold true in the Elementary, High School and College Levels.

The High-School level judges was headed by Dennis Paraguas and have the following as the criteria:

• Voice Quality - 30%
• Dynamics and Interpretation - 40%
• Stage Deportment/Audience Impact - 15%
• Timing - 15%

According to Anthony De Leon, the general manager of BCC, this year's competition was somewhat different in a way that it has a live telecast from Skycable on its Sky Community Channel, have ABS-CBN as a media partner and the increase in the amount of prizes.

This year's contest piece on the Academy level is entitled Diwa ng Pasko.
