BAGUIO CITY — Baguio Seventh-day Adventist School (BSDAS) students participated in a joint Fire and Earthquake Drill at the Baguio Central Seventh-day Adventist Church in P. Burgos on 8 July 2026.
The activity was conducted in partnership with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the Philippine National Police (PNP), and local barangay officials to reinforce emergency readiness among youth.
SFO1 Preston Degway served as the main speaker and trainer, guiding students through proper safety procedures during earthquake and fire emergencies. Assisted by student volunteers, Degway demonstrated the "Duck, Cover, and Hold" and "Stop, Drop, and Roll" techniques before leading an evacuation through designated exit routes.
Emergency officials highlighted the importance of remaining calm, following instructions, and working together during crises—values essential to disaster resilience and community safety.
In his closing remarks, Degway urged students and staff to take every safety exercise seriously, reminding them that proper preparation saves lives.
