Language Months End with Passion

    Students and teachers closed the months of August and September with various presentations from all students in all year levels. Each year / grade level was assigned to showcase their class’ talents during the School’s chapel periods held Mondays and Fridays at 7:45-8:30 AM.
    In August, the students celebrated Buwan ng Wika by singing Filipino songs and performing Philippine folk dances. The Grade 8 class showcased their Cordillera dances through their pattong while the Third Year class performed their inspiring Katagalugan dances and recited “Tata Celo,” their speech choir piece. The seniors closed the month with their musical performances and some dance numbers.
    English Month (September) opened with the Fourth Year students’ rendition of “Freedom,” a speech choir piece. Other grade levels followed with their respective pieces in prose as well as in poetry. On September 20, 2013, Mr. Freddie A. Dayao of Baguio International Academy spoke on the advantage of knowing how to speak English fluently. Then, on the 27th, the SA officers administered a contest on unscrambling letters to form correctly spelled words. English Month closed with the homeroom and SA officers presentations which featured portrayal of characters from the works of Shakespeare.
